As a registered Democrat, let me start by saying that McCain isn't my first choice in President by any means, however, when it comes down to the choice between McCain and Obama, for me the choice is McCain, and I'll tell you why:
- Simply put, CHARACTER MATTERS. I'm so tired of the subject of Obama's associations with the domestic terrorist William Ayers and with his America-hating black-separatist "pastor" Jeremiah Wright as being "off limits" by Obama supporters. Let's reverse the situation, what if the candidate were a white Republican who was associated with someone who bombed abortion clinics and was affiliated with a church that spewed racial slurs against African Americans? Would that be acceptable? If you're honest, the answer is "no"... then why does Obama get a pass?
- ECONOMICS. I'm no expert, however, I do remember from my basic economics class in HIGH SCHOOL, if the government raises taxes on businesses, that increase gets passed down to you, the consumer, when the business raises the cost of it's goods. This causes inflation. Also, his plan would raise taxes on individuals and families making more than $48,000.00 a year. I'm sorry, since when does making you $48,000.00 a year qualify you as "wealthy"? I don't know about you and your family, but I can't afford to pay more for groceries and the basic needs for myself and my child. The Obama plan doesn't make sense. Article Here.
- FOREIGN POLICY: If I hear one more time that Sarah Palin isn't qualified to be Vice President, I'm going to scream. At least she's made some decisions and had some experience in a publically-elected office. Obama's experience in the Senate amounts to little more than a bucketload of "present" votes. Not only that, but his statement that he would sit down with rogue dictators without any pre-conditions concerns me. How naieve can you be? By making a statement like that, these dictators will view you as "weak"... which brings me to my next point:
- OMINOUS WORDS. How many of you Obama supporters heard Biden make the statement about an impending International crisis? Does this not concern you? Why isn't the media covering this more? As Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, I would demand that Mr. Biden expound on his statements! And do you really want to elect a President who would invite this type of crisis? Article Here.
.
- RADICAL EDUCATION. Although Obama swears his association with Ayers is little more than serving on a board and living "down the street" - did you know that as head of the CAC, Obama funneled more than $200,000 to an Ayers "education reform" foundation called the Coalition for Improved Education in South Shore? By all accounts, the foundation was little more than propagating the whack-job racist ideology most famously preached by Obama's former pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright. Its mission: training public-school teachers in a pseudo-scientific movement that rejects Western civilization, and America in
particular, as "white supremacist". When Obama was faced with Rev. Wright's equally anti-American sermons, he made the
plausible case that while his devotion to his pastor was based on 20
years of community involvement, he rejected Wright's extreme views. But how can anyone now take that assertion seriously, given that he spent years funding the teaching of those ideas? Article here.
I know America is hungry for change after the last 8 years, but is this the change we want? It's not what I want for me or my child....
Anyway, I've stated my case. My purpose isn't to knock Obama supporters or to propogate an argument... Remember to Vote on November 4th!
One more. Last one, I promise.
... but no one's gonna love you more than I do ...
The much anticipated album (at least by me) "Cease to Exist" from Band of Horses was released yesterday... I am really enjoying everything I've heard so far ...
Never wear a pair of thong underwear backwards. It hurts. Trust me.
